Weapons of Mass Destruction and their Delivery Systems (Prohibition of Unlawful Activities) Act, 2005
An Act to prohibit unlawful activities, in relation to weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
WHEREAS India is determined to safeguard its national security as a Nuclear Weapon State;
AND WHEREAS India is committed not to transfer nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices, or to transfer control over such weapons or explosive devices, and not in any way to assist, encourage, or induce any other country to manufacture nuclear weapons or other nuclear explosive devices; AND WHEREAS India is committed to prevent a non-State actor and a terrorist from acquiring weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems;

Code of Criminal Procedure (Maharashtra Amendment) Act, 2004
An Act further to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, in its application to the State of Maharashtra. WHEREAS under the provisions of sub-section (2) of section 167 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 an accused person arrested and detained in custody pending completion of investigation, beyond twenty-four hours, has to be produced before the Magistrate having the jurisdiction for authorising the detention of the accused person in custody; AND WHEREAS for any extension of custody either as envisaged by the said sub-section (2) or under the proviso thereto, the services of a very large number of policemen are required to be utilised for escorting the accused persons from various Central Jails, District Jails in the State to the respective Courts and back ; AND WHEREAS inspite of deploying such large number of policemen for the purpose, due to constant increase in the number of such accused persons required to be produced in the Courts before the Magistrates, many prisoners r

Karnataka Prisons (Amendment) Rules, 2006
Whereas, the draft of the following rules, further to amend the Karnataka Prisons Rules, 1974 was published as required by Section 63 of the Karnataka Prisons Act, 1963 (Karnataka Act 33 of 1963), in Notification No. HD 147 PRA 2004, dated 2nd February, 2006 was published in Part IV-A of the Karnataka Gazette, Extraordinary, dated 21st February, 2006, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby within thirty days from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette. Whereas, the said Gazette and was made available to the public on Twenty-first day of February, 2006. whereas, no objections have been received by the State Government in respect of the said rules.
